My last day at the summer house began with greeting Johan as he was the first to wake up this morning...
The back view of the house as we drive up to it-
The front view of the house as we prepare to pack up and return to Gothenburg today
Much like yesterday, Johan continued work on the barn, and will finish up the front wall before we leave - while Carina and I went back out to collect more blueberries. This is the time to pick as many as possible, then freeze for use all winter.
At the spot where we parked the car, is the dumping place for the moose hunters. Here they dress their kill and leave the extras behind for the other forest creatures to feast upon....it is a Moose graveyard of sorts.
After walking a short bit up the road, we heard running water from the babbling brook and then I saw this lovely little waterfall....
Up a steep hill, we reached the clearing
and then a very damp walk up into the deep and dark forest.....
Before long, we heard the rain and discussed whether we should stay or go....we decided to stay and pick. Thunder rumbled all around, but we braved the weather and soldiered on.
Once our baskets were full enough, we started down the wet and slippery trail to the clearing once again....
After returning to the house, I went out for a walk with my camera so I could remember this lovely place forever.
Wild Strawberries (Smultron) along the side of the road
Blueberry fingers!
Lingonberries! (not quite ready for picking)
The Long and Winding road
soft thick green moss grown on the rock walls
Johan is peaking out from around the top of the barn!
The 2 walls of the barn are DONE!! (1 side and the front)
What a nice looking barn!
