off the beaten path

This morning we (Tom and I) said goodbye to the summer house and drove back to the Gothenburg house. Carina, Johan and Alice continued their 'holiday'.
The freeway didn't seem like the most interesting way to go, and we had all day to make the 2 hour trip, so we veered off onto the small byways that headed out towards the sea.

The weather today is light rain and drizzle.

We found beautiful hills and fjords, marinas, large farms and small fishing villages.

We stopped at a real fishmonger's in one small village.

Hungry for some lunch, we stopped at a grocery store where we were pleased to find a small restaurant inside, serving roasted pork, potatoes, salad bar and dessert for a great price!

We have returned to Carina and Johan's home in Gothenburg to spend the night.

We are now doing laundry so Tom has all clean clothes to continue HIS journey to Spain and Ireland, while I journey into other parts of Sweden now on my own.

We will get a good night's rest here and I will drop Tom at the airport in the morning, then drive north to Lake Vänern for 4 nights.

We are sipping a little wine we found here in the local shop- who woulda thunk it? Peacock Wine!
