We stopped to visit a small white Lutheran church in Alvesta...A funeral was just concluding and we were allowed inside...This church is situated on an ancient religious site and a rune stone from the time of Vikings stands on the property. Iron age gravestones are adjacent to the present cemetery.
The Pastor, Goran Alexandersson, came out to greet us and when he heard that I lived in Minnesota, he inquired where exactly that I lived. He had visited the area and after chatting a bit we bid him goodbye and he asked me to please call a friend and pastor in Minneapolis for him.. Nice guy.
After a quick lunch, we roamed through the museums in Vaxjo....The Glass museum, the Smaland Museum and the Emigrant's Museum.,
On to the Cathedral of Vaxjo, we passed through the "Carl Linne Gardens". The Cathedral was spectacular.
We checked into the hotel, had a dinner and now settling in for a good night's sleep before out next adventure.
