Blueberries

This morning we were greeted by party sunny skies and it was such a cheerful way to start the day. I made the trek up the hill to the barn for a shower before breakfast.
Soon, Johan was ready to work on the barn again, while Carina and I readied ourselves for a morning of berry picking.
The rains of the past few days have most certainly left the forest floor very damp and I was pleased to see that I still have my rain pants with me, although the jacket had already traveled home with Jan.

We drove the car deep into the forest down a narrow gravel hunter's road and parked at a small clearing. With baskets in hand, we started up a very steep hill in search of blueberries. Jackpot!

After an hour or so, we had collected lots of berries and stopped for a Fika break........of course Carina had packed some cinnamon rolls and beverage for us. After our Fika we picked more.

I spotted a pile of what was obviously animal dung and called Carina over to see if she knew what Animal it may have come from.....HA! It seemed to be from a small Elk or a large Moose! That may be as close as I get to seeing a moose as they seem to be hiding from me.

As we picked and picked berries, it started to rain!!!!! We ducked under a tree, but it was just a short passing shower and it did little to slow our efforts.

We came home to find Johan had made great progress on the barn and I began preparing out dinner or the day....Beef Stroganoff!

Gradually this afternoon the clouds have once again moved in and the rain has begun to fall once again.
Tomorrow afternoon we will travel back to Gothenburg, after the last bits of the barn are finished up.

Apparently there was an EARTHQUAKE in Gothenburg yesterday!! 2.7 on the Richter scale, so not a big one, but still a little scary!
