At the summer house - Near the border with Norway

After packing and some laundry chores, Tom and I got on the road using Johan's Peugeot to travel North from Gothenburg. We travelled the highway most of the way, the last 50 kilometers on narrow paved country roads, and a well maintained but very narrow gravel road at the end, to reach our destination very far out in the countryside. I think the nearest small village here is Hedekas,

Carina and Johan greeted us with a cup of coffee and cookies, but very shortly after that we had hammers in hand and we were helping with the project of restoring a wall of the old, 1800's barn on the property. Tom helped Johan nail up the new boards while Carina and I pulled the old nails out of the siding that had already been removed. Carina mixed up her special paint that is used in Sweden to replicate the old type of paint then Tom and I used the chop saw to cut up the old siding. We will continue this work today.

It is morning here in Sweden and everyone is just getting up. The shower is located up in the old barn, so it is a short (100 foot?) walk to get there.....

Other than working on the barn today, I am hoping to get out and explore the area.
