breakfast, Maria and I took "Samson the doggie" for a long walk. We knew we would be spending the day n the car, so this was a great start.
We drove to the place where our great-grandfathers lived as boys. Our great-grandfathers were brothers!
We found the area where they lived and walked down a road they most certainly walked on every day, but there was no one around to ask exactly which house it might have been....so I took pictures of some of the few homes that were there.
We also went to Floda to see where my grandfather and his family may have lived. We found the Floda Church, and it was completely amazing. It is no regular Swedish Country church. It is possibly the most beautiful old church I have seen in Sweden.
We went by the place where our families lived at one time, but it was not at all possible to see the actual homes. The locations are still there and named, but the houses were not there.
After a pizza lunch (The Swedes LOVE Pizza!) we went back to the apartment and said goodbye to Maria and Margareta, jumped into my rental car and drove 4 hours to my current location.
I am in Hallsingland, north of Stockholm in a B&B, They have horses here! I am now near to the area where Terry's grandfather and his family lived in Sweden. Tomorrow I will visit those villages and see what I can find.
In the meantime, I am the only guest at the B&B. I have asked for breakfast to be ready at 8:30 and I have taken the larger room with a private attached bathroom. Hey! I'm worth it!
this is where I am staying for 2 nights
The view from my room.
I am tired after all the riding and driving today, and there is more to see and do tomorrow! So Good Night all! Thanks for visiting!
